Over the history of UUCC, we have many small groups of people who have gathered under a topic or activity that interests them. This is a great way of forming lasting friendships and working together towards a goal.

Some examples of Affinity Groups, also known as Covenant Groups, have been:

  • Gardening
  • Women’s Spirituality
  • Caregivers
  • Reminiscent Writing
  • Parenting
  • Chalice Circles

There is some structure that a group agrees upon as it forms, such as frequency, duration, and location of gatherings. Someone has to agree to be the group facilitator to manage communications, but the role can be shared. When there are multiple Affinity groups, the facilitators usually come together periodically to share ideas and issues and the minister facilitates these meetings.

If you have an idea for an Affinity group and would like to participate in forming it, please contact the church office.
