What to Expect in Worship
Services are held each Sunday at 10am from August through June. Dress is casual. Our typical service has four sections:
- The Community Gathers: music, song, mindfulness,
- Provisions for the Journey: Story for All Ages, song, sermon, meditation
- The Community Responds: Joys and Concerns, offering, invitation to service, announcements
- The Community Scatters for Acts of Love and Justice: song, extinguish chalice, music
Children and Youth are with us for the first part of the service through our Story for All Ages, and then are sung out for religious education. Nursery care is available for our youngest. Time for coffee and conversation follows each service.
Throughout the year we have services for Unitarian Universalist traditions of water communion and flower communion, holiday celebrations, welcoming new members, child dedications, Coming of Age and a service led by our children and youth.
Each Sunday in July we hold more intimate, informal lay-led gatherings. Topics are pre-determined, chairs are set in a circle formation and all are encouraged to participate. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect more deeply with one another. Children are welcome to attend, however no child care is provided.
